Welcome to Blogger, TFD!

As you may or may not know, we're letting the fragiledragons.com hosting expire at the end of this month.

This means that we've moved from Wordpress (ad supported) to Blogger (free, no ads). That means some changes!

Domain

For now the domain will remain the same. If you're having trouble accessing the site an alternative URL is: fragiledragons.blogspot.ca

Archive

All posts have been migrated from Wordpress to Blogger. All images that were hosted on Bluehost are now hosted on Imgur. You may notice that all older posts are now authored by firefliesinlove. This is a consequence of exporting and then importing a batch of posts at one time. Unfortunately any comments that had images have shown up as empty comments.

Posting / Account

To make posts, comment, etc. - you will need to log in to Blogger with a Google account. You will have the option to link to your Google Plus account but it is not necessary. Take a look at my profile here as an example: it is not linked with Google Plus.

If you're having troubles posting on the site, it might just be that you're not yet an author and don't have the correct permissions. Leave a comment here about it and we'll take care of it.

Gallery

Images won't be hosted on blogger. Instead, feel free to choose your own image hosting! Here are a few alternatives (there are many others!):

  • Imgur

  • Google Drive

  • Photobucket

  • Take a peek at the current image galleries to see an example of what others are doing.

If you'd like to have your images linked to on the gallery page let me know.

    Character Pages

There will no longer be a GW2Char add-on with Blogger. Instead, pages can be set up for yourself and your characters. On the about page is where members will be listed. If you would like to have your own page with a bio for yourself and your characters, this is where it will be linked to.

Visit this link (temporarily up) for images of characters you used on the old site.

Check out a character page example here.

    1. Yay! Any reservations about blogger have disappeared for me due to a combination of your theme work and how BLAZING FAST this is compared to our old host.

One other important thing to mention. The posts can't be marked as private anymore. So currently the site is set as public, but not searchable by search engines and not listed on blogger. So people won't generally discover it without the domain name, but treat it like a postcard, not a sealed envelope!

If we need private posts we can figure something out later.

      1. I'm really happy with how this all turned out! I was definitely hesitant about Blogger at first but now I think this will be perfect for us. Yeah, the loading times with wordpress and that theme sucked. The only downside I can see for Blogger right now is that blogs can be deleted without warning. Here's to hoping it never happens to us!

I forgot to add this! For the most part I don't think it'll effect us too much because we only used that every so often. But sharing account information, passwords, specific real world details, etc. won't be as great. I've thought about it but I don't have any good ideas for private posts yet.
